Know and plan your outcome!

What is it you want? What is it you really want? Do you know that only about 10% of the population have written goals and only 3% actually read those goals on a regular basis? Guess which percent of the population achieve their goals on a regular basis and are successful at what they do... you got it, just 3%
So the message is simple, you need to right your goals down and plan out how you are going to get to achieving them. Do you know what weight you are now and how much you want to lose? Do you know what you ideal weight is? Write it down and exactly how you plan to get there then read it every day and follow the plan.

So what is step number two? I hear you cry...

Take targeted action!

So you know what your outcome is and where you are going to get to, you even know what steps you are going to have to take to get there. The next step is to take MASSIVE TARGETED ACTION! Take the plan you have made and take the actions that you have set out.

Taking action is the part most people miss out on so make sure you are different and TAKE ACTION!

Start now, right now. As you read this you need to take the very first action on your list. (Go on throw away those candy bars that are just going to keep you overweight!) Doing something straight away will start the desire to carry on and take all of the actions, if you don't - you won't! Simply put; if you leave it until tomorrow you'll never do it - start now; what can you do right now?

So now we are hurtling towards step number three and your successful future...

Evaluate and re-evaluate

With each action you take you need to make sure it is taking you directly towards you goal, your target, your destination. If you just blindly carry on with each action without looking where you are going you may find that you are heading in the wrong direction. After each action, or as regularly as you can, make sure you are checking to ensure you are heading directly towards your goal.

Measure your success; weigh yourself regularly then evaluate the actions you've taken and the actions you are going to take to ensure they are pointing you in one direction - towards where you want to be. There's an old saying that if you want to see a sunrise don't start heading west! If your actions are pointing you in the wrong direction there is one thing you need to do... and that is step number four...

Change your approach

So many people I see and coach have spent their lives just 'getting their heads down' and keep going. The problem with keeping your head down is you can't see WHERE you are going.

So when you have evaluated your actions and you notice that they are taking you off course - even slightly - you need to have the courage to say STOP! Stop what you are doing and change it. Lots of people think if they keep going they will get there eventually. I don't know about you but I don't want to get there eventually - I want to get there as quickly as possible.

When I was losing weight I kept checking that I was succeeding and when I didn't I changed to doing something different. That's how my diet developed and became successful!
